At Harrah's Joliet, you can do all of that. I like to nap, shit in piece, or at least gamble into the night. Which is a plus, since the next closest CET property in Hammond Indiana has NO hotel.

Here is a shot Harrah's, including her hotel tower. So it is an OK casino, better than most of it's peers, set in an interesting area. Better known locally as the 'Blues Brothers Prison'. And you can swing by the historic Stateville Correction Center. Still looking for adventure? Haunted Trails mini Amusement park is just down the road, rides, games, batting cages & mini golf. You can even walk over to the Joliet History Museum, which is just a couple blocks away. You can walk out of the casino and wander their downtown area. You are on historic Route 66, that means plenty of diners, flea markets and interesting things to see. Well, compared to the other casinos in the state. But the selling point is the area around it. The Total Rewards club (as mentioned) is a plus. If you dropped this casino in the middle of Reno, they would be out of business in a month. Don't get me wrong, 92% (which includes Video Poker) is shit. The average payback being 92% is the best you will do near the city. The slots are limited, but have a decent enough return for the area. And for a CET run joint, that is saying a lot. The bounce back comps here are better than most in Illinois. I hate gambling for the sake of gambling. So why is it on my top 5? The area around it & the fact that it is linked to the national Total Rewards program. The dining is limited, but they do have a Starbucks and a couple of gift shops. The casino itself is small, dated and not much to do but play. The Only Illinois casino to make my best of local gaming list. Just 60 minutes from downtown Chicago (Heading Southwest)
